Fall is the Time for Taiji (Tai Chi)!

A recent article in the New York Times (Sept. 11, 2018) cites studies that show that practice of Taijiquan can “enhance one’s health, balance and confidence.” The article states that practice of Taiji “can help increase your stamina and diminish your risk of injury that accompanies weak muscles and bones”. In addition, a new book from Harvard Health Publications, “An Introduction to Tai Chi”, included a 2015 study that showed 94.1% of participants found positive effects of Tai Chi”. The studies in the book clearly show that Taiji, “strengthens the lower body, improves posture, promotes flexibility, increases a person’s awareness of where the body is in space and improves one’s ability to navigate obstacles while walking”

Of course, Chen Taijiquan provides all these benefits, especially building leg strength. There are many ways you can get involved in this wonderful practice!
