Our annual goals are in conjunction with the Oregon BLM and the Mustang Heritage Foundation. These goals include but are not limited to:
- Promoting the adoption of American’s Living Legends by showcasing Mustangs though public events.
- Help Washington youth improve their horsemanship skills for future endeavors that may or may not include these equine skills.
By working with animals and especially horses, youth are often times able to build their own self-confidence and self-esteem and to build additional skills that assist them in building life training lessons for any future career or endeavor through healthy competition on a level beginning playing field. And, of course, to place our yearlings up for adoption into loving and hopefully forever homes.
We rely on our trainers, friends and the public to pass the word—about the program, about Mustangs.
Tell someone how they can become involved and invite your friends and family to assist and support the youth trainers during the training process. Help to realize the dream of placing Mustangs in approved permanent homes by contacting the media in all forms, schools and equine organizations in your area.
Help to locate sponsors for our program. We need sponsors for all awards, arena fees, potential stall fees at the final event and judges fees to name a few. All sponsors will be promoted in our programs and by the youth throughout their training time and at the final challenge of showcasing their yearlings.
Our trainers are selected through an application process requiring time, thought and dedication. It is not a program we take lightly and it has evolved the last few years into one of a kind. All of our trainers are treated equally and all are “winners”. There are not many kids willing to give up there summers to give a horse a chance at a better life. No one leaves our Final Challenge feeling left out. We pride ourselves in being able to offer unique and personalized awards every year so the trainers will always remember their experience even several years down the road. We fine tune and refine our program every year making the next one better than the last. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information.
